This workshop is intended for providers working with Holocaust Survivors and their families. 3 CEU’s available for licensed clinical social workers, therapists, and mental health counselors.
Professionals will discover how the impact of historical and intergenerational trauma shapes the health and well-being of individuals and communities in this insightful workshop. Using a Person-Centered, Trauma-Informed (PCTI) approach, the session focuses on the unique needs of the children of Holocaust survivors (2Gs), exploring the concept of “dual reality” and its influence on perceptions of safety and risk. Participants will gain practical tools rooted in PCTI principles—such as active listening, emotional validation, and resilience-building—to support 2Gs in managing anxiety, depression, and trauma-related symptoms. Grounded in the latest empirical research, case studies, and insights from recent forums, this workshop empowers attendees to foster compassionate care and support services that honors intergenerational legacies of trauma while recognizing and strengthening resilience within this population and others impacted by historical trauma.
